Seattle. Vecta Photo, the only photo studio and gallery in Georgetown, along with guest curator Amanda Michele Dellinger, is pleased to present Elizabeth Scallon, "Space for Thoughts," Georgetown's first artist in residency.

Upon acceptance, Scallon was offered a week long residency to create a site specific installation. Expanding beyond her known documentary photography and non-representational glass art, Scallon introduces a visual language she's developed over the past several years; symbols, resembling vertical lines and dots in an "energy pattern" suggesting pre and post alphabet communication. Comparable to sheet music her symbols bop in beat, a beat Scallon insists will be heard and recognized when all other communication is obsolete.

With a magnified background in science, humanities and healing she employs her art/symbol making as a call for solutions to our global issues. Elizabeth Scallon biotech manager at VLST by day and Pygmy Survival Alliance co-founder by passion inspires to engage her closet circles to change the world. ***end
